Swim diapers
Do swim diapers absorb pee?
No. Swim diapers are not made to absorb urine like everyday diapers. They are designed for snug containment during water time.
Do reusable swim diapers hold in poop?
A snug swim diaper is designed to help contain solids. Check the waist and leg openings for gaps, and change immediately if soiled.
Do I need a disposable swim diaper under Ocean Pals?
Swim-school policies differ. Some ask for double diapering while others prefer reusable-only. Check your facility’s rule before class.
When should I put on a swim diaper?
Put it on close to water time, not as an all-day diaper. Pack a regular diaper and dry clothes for afterwards.
Fit and care
How should Ocean Pals fit?
The waist and legs should sit close to the body without gaps. Choose by current weight, then compare waist and thigh measurements if between sizes.
How do I wash a reusable swim diaper?
Rinse with fresh water after swimming. When needed, hand wash cold with mild soap, rinse well, and hang or lay flat to air dry.
Swim vests and supervision
Are Baby Paddle Pals swim vests life jackets?
No. Mermaid Dreams and Sea Adventure are swim-learning aids for supervised pool practice, not life jackets or lifesaving devices. They are not intended for boating or open water.
What size swim vest should I choose?
Use current weight first. Mermaid Dreams is for 6–24 months up to 33 lb (15 kg); Sea Adventure is for 2–6 years, 33–66 lb (15–30 kg).
How should a swim vest fit?
Fasten and adjust every strap, then gently lift at both shoulders. The vest should remain on the torso and not rise over the ears or face.
Can my child wear a swim vest in swim lessons?
Ask the instructor first. Some programmes allow flotation aids while others prefer minimal gear for skill practice.
