Safety Information
Your child’s safety is our top priority. Please read and follow all product labeling and use instructions before each wear.
Important safety reminders
- Always provide constant adult supervision in or near water
- Always choose the correct size based on current weight
- Check the vest for a secure fit before every use
- Use the safety strap or harness every time
- Never allow a child to wear a loose or improperly fastened vest
- Inspect the vest regularly for wear, damage, or loose parts
- Replace the product if it shows signs of damage or reduced performance
Approved swim vest products
Paddle Pals product pages state that certain swim vest styles are approved by the U.S. Coast Guard and Transport Canada and are approved as a Type III child’s PFD for recreational boating, with use noted for pools, lakes, and beaches. Those claims should only be used on the specific products that carry that approval.
Good to know
- Not every swim product on a website should automatically be described as an approved life jacket or PFD
- Approval language should only appear on the exact styles that are officially certified
- For swim diapers, swimsuits, or non-PFD swimwear, keep the wording focused on comfort, movement, and water play rather than flotation claims
Water-use reminder
Even when a child is wearing an approved swim vest, parents and caregivers should stay close, stay attentive, and supervise continuously.
